The Ask:
For this project, I conceptualized and designed a Spring/Summer 2023 activewear collection in collaboration with Nike featuring eight flats using twelve textile patterns created from my theme board.

Process
Theme Board
Pattern Development
At the beginning of the semester, we created theme boards that would later be used for our final project. My theme board consisted of oriental elements to highlight my culture. We then created a color story and patterns out of the mood board.
Later, I developed patterns using the shapes and colors found within the theme board. I wanted to create patterns that could reflect Taiwan’s charm and culture.
Flats
With everything finalized, I created flats of clothing similar to that of the brand Nike as I wanted to collaborate with this brand due to its international presence. To ensure variety, I selected clothes that could be worn as unisex as well as including an accessory.
Outcome
This project provided me with a clearer understanding of the fashion industry and its foundational elements. It taught me the importance of designing with intention—ensuring that each element of the collection serves a specific purpose, from the selection of fabrics to the overall concept. Additionally, I learned to pay close attention to the finer details, such as construction, color combinations, and consistency in branding.
